Can Access America reprogram my telephone system at my office?

Yes, if you are a local telephone customer of Access America, please call our office at 482-2140 to schedule an appointment with one of our technicians.  Please note that trip charges and hourly rates will apply to any telephone system programming.

How will I be billed for my local and long distance telephone service?

You will be billed for your local and long distance telephone services by Access America.  Billing is performed generally around the15th of each month.

Can I make a conference call with Access America?

Yes, Access America nationwide teleconferencing is available to any Access America customer.

How do I schedule a teleconference?

Call the Access America office prior to scheduling your conference. You can establish a teleconference account at no cost and it will always be ready for your use. That way, you can schedule conferences with only a few minutes notice.

What does it mean to me for Access America to own and operate its own switches?

Owning our own switching equipment means that we can provide the highest level of customer service to you. Among other things, it gives us the ability to retrieve any call that you report may have given you a problem quickly and easily. We then can trace the paths and equipment involved and pin point trouble spots and correct them.

I want a toll free 800 or 888 number but I only want certain people to be able to use it. What can I do?

Ask us about an Authcode-Required Toll-Free number.

If I move my place of business, can I retain the same 800 number?

Yes, 800/888 numbers are portable and remain yours no matter where your business is located.

If I already have an 800/888 toll-free number with another long-distance telephone company, can I retain the same number(s)?

Yes, 800/888 numbers as a general rule, are portable.

Can I restrict my toll free callers to a certain geography? For example, could I request that I receive toll free calls from only Tennessee and California?

Yes, 800/888 numbers can be restricted to receive calls only from certain area codes.

How do I order additional telephone directories when I have Access America for local telephone service?

Our local telephone service subscribers may obtain additional telephone directories covering areas in which they have phone service or in which they advertise in the yellow pages.  There may be a charge if you request directories covering areas in which you do not have phone service or in which you do not advertise.  To obtain extra directories, call:

How can I get Access America to be my local telephone company for my business?

The Telecommunications Act of 1996 opened the door to competition in the local telephone market similar to the way the long distance markets were opened to competition in 1982.  Access America received approval from the State of Tennessee in 1996 to offer local telephone service in Tennessee.  Access America was the first company in Tennessee to offer competitive local telephone service.  In order to choose Access America as your local telephone company, please call our office at 865-482-2140.  There is a simple form to fill out and sign authorizing the switch of your business telephone service to Access America.  Choose Access America as your local telephone company and experience the difference!  At Access America, we work for you!
